The sentence includes crimes of sexual abuse of minors, production of child pornography, and cyberbullying.
The pedophile tried for luring more than twenty minors through the online game Fortnite to take screenshots while they showed him their genitals in a video call and even went on to rape one of them has been sentenced by the Provincial Court of Madrid to 433 years in prison.
The sentence, obtained by Europa Press, convicts A.M.V., a 46-year-old born in Córdoba (Argentina), for committing 10 crimes, including sexual assault with penetration of a minor under 16.
Furthermore, the verdict also includes a dozen counts of sexual abuse of minors, 18 of seduction or ‘sexting,’ seven of production of child pornography, and 13 of cyberbullying or ‘grooming.’
Although the total years of the sentence amount to more than 400, the Penal Code, in article 76.1, sets a maximum of 20 years of imprisonment. Therefore, once he serves three-quarters of the imposed sentence and reaches the third grade or is granted parole, A.M.V. will have his prison term replaced by expulsion from the national territory and a 10-year ban on entering Spain.
The convicted man, who had previously committed several sexual abuse crimes, will also have to pay compensation to the minors he sexually abused, totaling around 90,000 euros.
MINOR RECRUITMENT
As detailed by the prosecutor during the trial, the accused was a user of the online game Fortnite in 2021. During that time, he contacted minors under 13 years old, whom he met through the game, engaging in conversations to gain their trust. He would buy game items for them or give them ‘V-Bucks,’ the in-game currency used to purchase things like battle passes, outfits, or pickaxes.
Once the minors considered him their friend, the accused, knowing they were under 13, contacted them through video calls and the audio system of Fortnite, asking them to show and exhibit their genitals. Due to the bond of trust established, the minors eventually complied with the request.
The accused proceeded to capture screenshots of each minor, naming them and storing them in a folder called ‘little angels’ using his phone or computer.
Subsequently, he uploaded this file to an account on the MEGA.NZ server. Following a court order on September 24, 2021, the accused’s residence in Malaga was searched and seized.
Upon examining the seized material, a review of an email account the accused had on the MEGA server revealed files in the ‘little angels’ folder containing sexual images of minors under 13 obtained by the accused in 2021. The total number of minors depicted is 25, with half of them unidentified. The accused has been in prison for this case since July 2023.
