Grenergy cierra acuerdo con Ingeteam por 1 GW de inversores

Grenergy has closed a new agreement with the Spanish company Ingeteam for the supply of approximately 1 gigawatt (GW) of inverters, a total of 298 units, destined for phases 4 and 6 of its energy storage megaproject in Chile at Oasis de Atacama, known as ‘Gabriela’ and ‘Elena’.

Specifically, this order strengthens the collaboration between both companies, which have already worked together on the three previous phases of the project. In total, it adds up to 2 GW with 610 inverters -410 battery and 200 photovoltaic-, all integrated into 305 energy transformation centers. It also includes the PPC (Power Plant Controller) plant control system and startup services.

Grenergy and Ingeteam have maintained a strategic relationship since 2016, with joint projects developed in key markets such as Chile, Spain, Mexico, and Colombia.

With over 3.5 GW of joint projects, Ingeteam is established as a strategic partner for Grenergy thanks to its leadership in R&D and cutting-edge technology. Globally recognized in ‘grid forming’, this innovation is crucial for integrating renewable energies into increasingly decarbonized electrical grids, allowing inverters to function as synchronous generators and provide stability, synthetic inertia, and regulatory capacity to the grid.

Grenergy’s CEO, David Ruiz de Andrés, stated that the success of projects like Oasis de Atacama «largely depends on having reliable partners and cutting-edge technology.» «Ingeteam, a leading Spanish company in energy innovation, is a key strategic ally for us in building a solid and sustainable European industry,» he said.

Ingeteam’s CEO, Adolfo Rebollo, highlighted that Oasis de Atacama is a globally renowned project and «confirms that energy storage is the key element in maximizing renewable generation.»
