Members of the Taburete group, Willy Bárcenas and Antón Carreño, have expressed their criticism of the international policy of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. «Before the elections, I was with Trump. I wanted Trump to win. I don’t like Kamala Harris at all, but the disappointment has been very big,» Bárcenas stated.
«I think the fight against woke dictatorship is good, but their methods, their attitude, all the protectionist politics, the issue of tariffs, I’m not liking it at all,» he explained in an interview with Europa Press Television after the release of the first single from their upcoming work, ‘First Attempt’.
On the other hand, Carreño has expressed his disillusionment with the current U.S. administration, highlighting his disapproval of the management of international conflicts. «What he has done with Russia is a bit strong, not taking into account Zelensky or anyone to try to resolve the conflict,» he asserted.
Additionally, he criticized Trump’s approach to the Gaza conflict, arguing that his approach was superficial. «That video he uploaded of IA as if it were a super resort in Gaza, when people are in that situation right now,» he stated.
‘FIRST ATTEMPT’, THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA
Taburete releases ‘First Attempt’, a song that marks the beginning of a new era and combines the emotion of a ballad with the energy of electric guitars and an epic burst that defines their pop sound.
The duo immerses the audience in an introspective journey about finding oneself when fighting for someone else. The lyrics explore the tension between holding onto one’s own scars and patterns or leaving them behind to make way for love. With careful instrumentation and production that intensifies, the band captures that emotional dichotomy in a chorus that resonates strongly.
The artists have explained that this first single represents «the start of their sixth album» and have described the song as «one of Taburete’s most loving songs,» acknowledging that they haven’t composed many pieces of this style before.
Bárcenas and Carreño have emphasized that this song marks the beginning of a musical strategy where «everything will be connected through the singles they release,» anticipating that this first single will be «a great start to everything that is to come.»
Regarding their upcoming album, set to be released at the end of the year, the artists have confirmed that there will be «4 or 5 previews» before the album’s launch.
COLLABORATIONS IN THEIR NEXT ALBUM
Regarding collaborations on their next work, Taburete has indicated that they will not be like those on their previous album, where they featured artists like Omar Montes, La Húngara, or José Mercé. «They are not collaborations that will attract as much attention,» they stated, although they revealed that they will include two tracks with «great friends.»
Both have acknowledged that they used to have «an obsession» with collaborations to «add up,» but they are currently at a point where it matters to them «a little less.» They like the two collaborations they will include in the album «very much» and claim that they were chosen from a more personal and close perspective than a strategic one.
SAYING GOODBYE TO THE STAGE
A few months ago, Taburete announced through their social media that they are stepping away from the stage. The group did not specify the reasons for their temporary goodbye after concluding their last tour in December to take a month «for vacations, rest, and to think carefully about what we wanted to do.» «They have been intense 10 years, with many joys,» they explained, but they stated that they needed to take a break.
The main reason for this break is to rest after years of intense musical activity. «We were under a lot of pressure and needed to take a break, release the album with time,» Bárcenas explained, confirming that they will not perform concerts this year, and next year is still to be defined.
The musicians described their current situation as a mix of emotions, likening it to «the feeling of when summer ends and you have to go back home.» «It’s good for us to release this album this way, giving care to the songs we have made with so much affection,» Carreño added.
The group wanted to convey that, although the decision has been made, they do not rule out returning to the stage in the future, leaving the door open to future performances after this «necessary» break period.
