Apple is gearing up for a major update to its Health app, with the possibility of an AI overhaul on the horizon. According to a newsletter from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a more comprehensive version of the Health app, codenamed Project Mulberry. The new version is set to include an AI agent that aims to mimic a doctor and serve as a personal health coach. This AI agent will provide lifestyle recommendations based on users’ health data and will also feature educational videos from real doctors covering a range of health topics.
In addition to these features, the revamped Health app will also focus on food tracking and may even provide tips for correcting workout forms using the device’s camera. The new service, tentatively called Health+, is expected to launch with iOS 19.4 next spring or summer. Apple is currently employing doctors to help train the AI agent and is planning to establish a studio near Oakland, California for filming content. Furthermore, there are rumors that Health+ may feature a celebrity doctor as the face of the service, as Apple is reportedly seeking a «major doctor personality» to be involved.
