Las exposiciones ‘Paolo Veronese (1528-1588)’ and ‘Tan lejos tan cerca. Guadalupe de México en España’ from the Museo del Prado have achieved over 150,000 visits and have set a record for weekly visitors, in just seven and five weeks of opening, respectively, according to data as of July 13 from the pinacoteca.
In the case of the exhibition about Veronese, almost 100,000 people have come to see the first monographic exhibition dedicated in Spain to one of the masters of the Venetian Renaissance. The exhibition has reached 99,750 visitors (data as of July 13) in just 7 weeks, with a weekly average of 14,250 people and an absolute record in its third week: 16,801 attendees, the highest figure recorded for any temporary exhibition at the museum in the last eight years.
On the other hand, the exhibition dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe has attracted over 50,000 visitors (50,725 as of July 13) in just five weeks, with a weekly average of 10,145 and more than 1,449 people per day. These figures also represent a new maximum in the exhibitions of Sala C and D, as well as a «very notable» increase in the percentage of visitors from Mexico, who are now the first nationality within the Hispanic community in attendance at the Prado.
