Tron: Catalyst, the sequel to Tron: Identity and the upcoming game from Bithell Games, is scheduled to be released on June 17, 2025. While the game is a standalone title, it continues the narrative of Identity and explores the world of Tron from a new isometric perspective.
In conjunction with the release date, Bithell Games and publisher Big Fan unveiled a new trailer at the ID@Xbox Showcase, providing a glimpse of the gameplay mechanics and storytelling in the game. Players will assume the role of Exo, a program from the «Arq Grid» with a unique ability called «The Glitch,» which allows them to manipulate time loops in the game, replaying levels with newfound knowledge to discover secrets and shortcuts. Throughout the game, Exo will face challenges from the leaders of the Grid, requiring them to battle enemies on foot or aboard a Light Cycle. As revealed in an early preview by Engadget, players will have the opportunity to enhance their combat skills to align with their preferred playstyle.
Tron: Identity was a visual novel, making Catalyst a departure in terms of gameplay. However, this shift adds an intriguing element to the game, blending narrative choices with exciting action-adventure sequences.
Tron: Catalyst is set to launch on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 17, 2025. This article originally appeared on Engadget at .
