Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to release on PlayStation 5 on June 26. During SXSW, Kojima Productions unveiled a 10-minute trailer for the highly anticipated game, providing fans with a detailed look at the sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding. Pre-orders will begin on March 17 at 10AM local time, with early access granted to those who purchase the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Edition two days before the official release date.
Hideo Kojima, accompanied by Norman Reedus and Troy Baker, took the stage at SXSW 2025 to discuss the upcoming game. The trailer showcases that Death Stranding 2 is set 11 months after the establishment of the United Cities of America. Returning characters include Reedus as Sam, Léa Seydoux as Fragile, and Baker as Higgs, with several new faces also joining the cast throughout the 10-minute video.
Death Stranding 2 was initially announced in 2022, and last year’s PlayStation State of Play event offered a 9-minute preview of the game. Fans can expect to finally play it in the summer.
