Bungie revealed its plans for the upcoming year of Destiny 2 content, hinting at an exciting time for Star Wars enthusiasts in the latter part of 2025. The studio teased an expansion called Renegades that takes inspiration from the beloved sci-fi universe. With Destiny already encompassing themes of epic space battles between light and darkness, it was perhaps only a matter of time before it paid homage to Star Wars.
If you’re concerned about Star Wars characters like Skywalkers and Fetts entering the game similar to what happened in Fortnite or Call of Duty, that possibility does seem to exist. The teaser video showcases a guardian wielding a recognizable green lightsaber, along with nods to Imperial alarm sounds and uniforms in some close-up shots. Additionally, for those inclined towards the dark side, the priciest pre-order option for this year’s content includes armor ornaments that can transform your guardian into characters like Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, or General Grievous.
More details about the Renegades expansion are set to be unveiled on September 9, leading up to its release in December.
