The digital offering of the Andalusian regional channel is now integrated into Universal Guide, improving its accessibility and visibility among Samsung Smart TV users
Samsung Electronics announces a new expansion of its collaboration with Radio y Televisión de Andalucía with the integration of Canal Sur Más content into Universal Guide, Samsung Smart TV’s personalized and advanced programming guide. This integration allows users to access the programming of the Andalusian channel even more conveniently and centrally, directly from the TV’s main interface.
The presence of Canal Sur Más in Universal Guide reinforces the joint commitment of Samsung and the Andalusian channel to facilitate access to public, quality, and proximity content within the digital entertainment ecosystem offered by Samsung Smart TV.
An evolving collaboration
This new integration continues the collaboration that began in 2022 when Canal Sur Más debuted as an app available on Samsung TVs and continued in 2023 with the inclusion of CanalSur Andalucía in Samsung TV Plus, a free streaming service available on all Samsung Smart TVs since 2016, without the need for a subscription, downloads, or antenna connection. Since then, millions of users have been able to enjoy the programming of the Andalusian public TV on Samsung devices.
With its arrival in Universal Guide, Canal Sur takes a further step in visibility and accessibility, as the content can be easily discovered thanks to the personalized recommendations offered by this intelligent guide. Users will be able to find both live broadcasts and highlights of current affairs, entertainment, culture, and news from the channel.
Standout programs in the Andalusian channel’s prime time lineup include Tierra de Talento hosted by Manu Sánchez, La Tarde Aquí y Ahora hosted by Juan y Medio, or Gente Maravillosa hosted by Toñi Moreno; as well as local and regional news services, the full range of Andalusian cinema and documentaries, special coverage of Andalusian Festivals, and classics from the programming of a fundamental TV channel in Spain over the last 40 years.
«This new phase of collaboration with Canal Sur underscores our commitment to continue bringing users the content they are interested in, wherever they are. The integration into Universal Guide offers a more intuitive and personalized way to connect with regional content on our Smart TVs,» says Miguel Ángel Ruiz, Brand and Innovation Manager at Samsung Electronics Iberia.
«For Canal Sur, it is very important to reach the maximum number of screens and bring our digital content offering in the most optimal way. It is an honor to close this collaboration with Samsung that we started with the launch of our digital platform CanalSur Más in March 2022,» highlights Juan Vargas, Director of Innovation, Business, and Communication at CanalSur Radio y TV.
Universal Guide: Personalized content from one place
Samsung’s Universal Guide allows users to explore content from different platforms and channels, all from one place. Thanks to an artificial intelligence-based recommendation engine, the content is arranged according to the interests and habits of each user, making it easier to discover new programs without having to switch between applications or external sources.
With the addition of Canal Sur, Samsung’s content guide is further enriched with a local and public service offering, joining other available platforms such as RTVE Play, Movistar Plus+, Atresplayer, Mitele, Netflix, Rakuten TV, HBO Max, Disney+, Apple TV+, Prime Video, or DAZN, among others.
