Canadá gana su primera Copa Hopman ante Italia.

The Canadian tennis players Félix Auger-Aliassime and Bianca Andreescu have given their country the first title in their history in the Hopman Cup this Sunday, thanks to their 1-2 victory in this year’s final against the Italian team, made up of Flavio Cobolli and Lucia Bronzetti.

In Bari (Apulia region, Italy), the final matchup for the title began with the match between Andreescu and Bronzetti, where the Canadian player won 6-2 and 6-3 in less than an hour and a half on the Central Court within the Fiera del Levante venue.

Next came the match between Auger-Aliassime and Cobolli, whose first set went to the visiting side by (7)6-7. However, the host took the second set 7-5 and everything was decided with a super ‘tie-break’, where the Italian player came from behind at 5-7 to win it 10-8.

With the tie at 1-1, the doubles match determined which country would be the champion. Auger-Aliassime and Andreescu took control in the opening set with a break in the fourth game, immediately consolidated. In the following set, they saved a 15-40 deficit in the fourth game and then made two consecutive breaks to secure the match and thus the title.
