Interior detecta en VioGén 100.899 casos activos de violencia de género, 52.792 con menores a cargo – Estadísticas recientes

The Ministry of the Interior has identified 100,899 active cases of victims of gender-based violence in the VioGén System, of which 52,792 involve minors under their care, according to statistical data from the department led by Fernando Grande-Marlaska collected by Europa Press.

As of February 28 of this year, there is a total of 100,899 active cases of gender-based violence, with 10 classified as extreme risk, 895 as high risk, 13,071 as medium risk, 43,159 as low risk, and 43,764 where risk is not identified.

Interior’s data also shows that there are 52,792 cases of victims of gender-based violence with minors under their care, almost 10,000 more than those registered in the VioGén System in February 2024. Among these, 1,437 are at risk of being harmed by the aggressor of their mother. Specifically, there are currently five extreme risk cases, 114 high risk cases, and 1,318 medium risk cases. Additionally, the statistics reflect 12,596 cases with minors in vulnerable situations.

Furthermore, 11,019 cases are of «special relevance,» with ten of them at extreme risk, 840 at high risk, and 10,169 at medium risk. These cases exhibit «a special combination of indicators that significantly increase the likelihood of the aggressor inflicting very serious or lethal violence on the victim.»

Regarding regions, the highest number of active cases of gender-based violence is in Andalusia with 26,407 cases, followed by the Valencian Community with 16,802 cases, the Community of Madrid with 12,710 cases, the Canary Islands with 6,630 cases, Galicia with 5,803 cases, Castilla-La Mancha with 5,498 cases, Murcia with 5,493 cases, Castilla y León with 5,135 cases, the Balearic Islands with 4,155 cases, Extremadura with 2,698 cases, Aragon with 2,533 cases, Asturias with 2,125 cases, Navarra with 1,986 cases, Cantabria with 1,496 cases, La Rioja with 927 cases, Ceuta with 264 cases, and Melilla with 237 cases.
