Google has released an update to its Find My Device app for Android users, bringing a new «People» tab that displays contacts who have shared their location with you, and vice versa. The feature was announced at the beginning of the month as part of the March Pixel Drop and has started rolling out this week, as reported by 9to5Google.
With this update, users can now view the real-time locations of their approved contacts on a map, along with details such as their current addresses, distance from you, and the time since the information was last updated. This makes it easier for users to keep track of trusted contacts and manage location sharing within the app.
The People tab allows users to see which contacts have shared their location with them, as well as those they have shared their own location with. Users can also switch between Google accounts and adjust their Location Sharing settings directly from the app. This update comes nearly a year after the initial launch of Find My Device and brings the service more in line with Apple’s Find My app.
