Andrés Ruiz (PP) critica la política fiscal del Gobierno asturiano como injusta y poco competitiva.

The PP deputy in the General Assembly of the Principality of Asturias (JGPA), Andrés Ruiz, stated on Saturday in Seville that the fiscal policy implemented by the «socialist and communist» Asturian government led by Adrián Barbón is neither fair nor competitive.

Ruiz participated in the 27th Interparliamentary of the PP in a panel discussion on taxation. He mentioned that the 42% increase in income tax collection over the past four years is a result of «cold progressivity,» which taxes salary increases due to inflation without increasing the real purchasing power of the taxpayer.

«It is not fair to attack the freedom to bequeath with one of the highest inheritance taxes in Spain,» added the Asturian parliamentarian.

He also addressed the issue of the relocation of income and assets caused by regional tax policy. «An independent worker on the border between provinces faces a higher income tax than their neighbor on the other side of the border,» he explained, warning about the loss of investors and capital this entails for Asturias.

In response to this situation, Ruiz advocated for the «ambitious tax plan» of the PP of Asturias, led by Álvaro Queipo, which the left «systematically rejects.» «It is inconceivable to use inflation, that tax on the poor, to fill the budgets,» he emphasized.

Finally, the deputy expressed his conviction that, following the example of Andalusia, the Asturian PP will succeed in «transforming Asturias into a driving force in Spain» with its renewed political project.
