A total of 10,882 migrant people have arrived in the Canary Islands so far in 2025, up to May 15, by sea and irregularly, 34.4% less than in the same period of 2024 (16,586), according to the latest report from the Ministry of the Interior, as reported by Europa Press.
Additionally, a total of 3,377 migrants have arrived in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands by sea, 2.2% more than in the same months of the previous year (3,303). Likewise, 3 people arrived in Ceuta and one in Melilla by this route.
Nationally, the figure rises to 14,263 people arriving by sea, which represents a decrease of 28.3% compared to the same period in 2024, when a total of 19,890 migrants arrived by this route.
The number of people arriving in Spain by land also decreases. In total, there are 654 migrants, 35.1% less than in the same months of the previous year, when there were 1,008.
Specifically, 598 have entered through Ceuta, 40% less than in the same period of 2024 (997), and 56 through Melilla, 409.1% more than the previous year (11).
In total, so far this year, 14,917 people have arrived in Spain, both by sea and land, 28.6% less than in the same months of 2024, when there were 20,898.
