Meta is branching out from its Connect conferences and hosting a standalone generative AI-focused developer conference called LlamaCon on April 29. The event will be streamed online, and viewers can tune in live on the Meta for Developers Facebook page.
The conference kicks off at 1PM ET / 10AM PT with a keynote address featuring Meta’s Chief Product Officer Chris Cox, Vice President of AI Manohar Paluri, and research scientist Angela Fan. The keynote will delve into developments in the company’s open-source AI community, provide updates on the Llama collection of models and tools, and offer a sneak peek at upcoming AI features.
Following the keynote, there will be a conversation at 1:45PM PT / 10:45PM ET between Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi on «building AI-powered applications.» Later, at 7PM ET / 4PM PT, Zuckerberg will chat with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella about «the latest trends in AI.» While no major announcements are expected, given the history of collaboration between Microsoft and Meta, surprises could be in store.
We will be liveblogging the keynote presentation and subsequent interviews between Zuckerberg and his guests. For those who prefer to watch the event directly, LlamaCon will be live-streamed on the Meta for Developers Facebook page.
Meta has a track record of releasing updates to its AI models outside of conferences. In early April, the company introduced the Llama 4 family of models, known for excelling in image understanding and document parsing. It remains to be seen what new models or products Meta might unveil at LlamaCon.
For the latest updates, be sure to check back for live coverage starting at 10AM ET today. And remember, you can watch LlamaCon live on the Meta for Developers Facebook page.
