España lidera el turismo en Europa para verano 2025, según CESAE

España maintains its leadership in tourism for the main European issuing markets for the summer campaign of 2025, confirming its strength in countries such as the United Kingdom (21.2% of total international tourists), France (14.3%), Germany (13.1%), and the Netherlands (4.2%), according to data compiled by CESAE Business & Tourism School.

Regarding the first visitor market, demand remains solid, although new behavioral patterns are detected: a rise in getaways during the mid-season (spring and autumn), an increase in domestic tourism in the United Kingdom, and a slight erosion in the perception of the Spanish destination.

«Despite some signs of caution, British travelers continue to choose Spain, especially if attractive conditions of air connectivity and exchange rates are maintained,» stated the director of CESAE Business & Tourism School, Alberto Peris.

Additionally, France shows stable and moderate growth behavior, although influenced by the global geopolitical situation, while Germany maintains high tourism spending, despite the slowdown in air reservations due to price increases and competition from other destinations.

In the German market, the entity has highlighted sustainability and responsible tourism management as differentiating factors.

On the other hand, the Netherlands continues to position Spain as one of its favorite destinations. Specifically, reservations tend to stabilize, but forecasts for the summer remain favorable.

Overall, CESAE Business & Tourism School warns of a European traveler who is «more demanding, informed, and sensitive» to factors such as sustainability, the authenticity of the experience, and the economic impact of their trip.
