López Miras highlights that from the regional government «we will continue committed to ensuring equal opportunities»
The president of the regional government, Fernando López Miras, announced this Friday that the Community will promote, for the first time this year, equality plans in those companies that are not legally required to have them. The objective is to promote reconciliation and gender equity in companies with a staff of between 10 and 49 employees.
«These are companies that have never been required by law to have these plans, but now, thanks to the support we will offer them from the Community, we will incentivize their implementation,» López Miras reported during the award ceremony of the March 8 Awards of the Community, held at the Víctor Villegas Auditorium, which recognize the work of individuals and entities that stand out for their involvement in defending equal opportunities.
The president clarified that these are «companies with fewer than 50 employees in their staff, which also require specific measures and actions to reduce the gap between men and women. We want to help and advise them to implement, for example, programs that promote personal, family, and work reconciliation.»
The regional government considers that companies are a key element in the implementation of policies and actions that promote equality, so it will continue to develop these types of initiatives in organizations, regardless of their size, so that women and men occupy the same level in society.
During his speech, López Miras emphasized that from his government «we will continue committed to ensuring equal opportunities for men and women, in all areas.»
