ALMONTE (HUELVA), 28 (EUROPA PRESS)

The secretary general of the PSOE in Huelva, María Eugenia Limón, has reaffirmed her mandate after obtaining the support of 98.8% of the delegates for a new Executive Committee during the celebration of the 15th Provincial Congress.

Among the members of the new Executive Committee are Gustavo Cuéllar as vice secretary general of the PSOE in Huelva, Rocío Cárdenas as vice secretary general, Francisco Baluffo as secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Enrique Gaviño remains as spokesperson; María Teresa Rodríguez as secretary of Equality, Manuel Eugenio Romero as honorary president, and Antonio Beltrán as secretary coordinator of the Municipal Policy area.

At the closing of the Provincial Congress, Limón emphasized the «need» to work with «strength, without fissures, and with a renewed team» to «recover the Diputación de Huelva and the Junta de Andalucía.» «Today is a day of hope, of excitement, but above all, of commitment,» stated Limón, highlighting that the PSOE is the best tool to build a future of progress and equality in the province and throughout Andalucía. «We are driven by the conviction that politics is the most powerful tool to change lives,» she added.

During her speech, the socialist leader criticized the management of the right-wing in Andalucía, accusing them of «suffocating public health and education, abandoning dependents, and privatizing rights.» In this sense, she called on the party members to «be on the streets, in the neighborhoods, and in the towns, listening and proposing solutions to improve the lives of the citizens.»

«The PSOE is the voice of the people, the strength of the streets, and the hope of those who want a better world,» emphasized Limón, highlighting her commitment «to the economic and social development of Huelva through dignified infrastructures, quality agriculture, and opportunities for young people.»

Likewise, in her speech, the secretary general called for party unity as a «key» to «electoral victory.» «When socialism unites, when it believes in itself, when it gets going, no one can stop it,» she affirmed, reiterating that the PSOE is «more alive than ever» and «prepared to lead the change in Huelva and Andalucía.»

«We will win, and we will do it with unity, with ideas, with effort, and with principles,» Limón concluded, ensuring that the new Executive Committee will work «tirelessly» for the progress of the province.

On her part, the vice secretary of the PSOE in Andalucía, María Márquez, began her speech by stating that «the socialists of Huelva have returned with all the desire, with all the strength,» because «we are up to what this province deserves, to what the people of this land expect from our party and from all of us who are here.»

Additionally, Márquez indicated that the socialist party with this congress «is writing one of the most important pages in its history,» expressing that she feels «deeply proud» of the secretary general of the socialists of Huelva. «A woman of race, with very clear ideas, with an overwhelming personality, who has had enormous generosity, who is not afraid of talent, and who wants to involve everyone because she knows she has the responsibility to make history in Huelva, in her land, with her people. This is the Congress that you and the party in Huelva deserve,» she stated.

In this regard, she pointed out that in the PSOE are «the best to defend our ideas,» while criticizing the president of the Junta for «skirting around all issues» and «only taking credit for the policies of the government of Pedro Sánchez and María Jesús Montero in Andalucía.»

Therefore, she emphasized that «the right-wing cannot give lessons on anything,» because the Socialist Party «is proud to defend public health,» and «they are the ones feeling the anger of the people, the indignation, the helplessness that they have broken the most sacred thing we had as Andalusians, the right to public health.» «The same in the educational field, as there are families at this moment asking for loans for their child to study a vocational training because they cannot find a place in the public system,» she asserted.

«And in the field of gender violence, we will not allow a step backward,» she emphasized, while referring to Ruth Ortiz, to whom she sent a hug and «the commitment, from the firmest conviction, that we stand with the women victims of gender violence and we will not allow what is happening.»
