Larian Studios has released the final major update for . This update includes full cross-play support, allowing players on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Mac to team up and play together. Additionally, a built-in photo mode has been added, allowing players to take photos during gameplay and customize them with stickers and effects.
In addition to these features, Larian has introduced 12 new subclasses to the game, each offering unique ways to play. The new subclasses include Bard – College of Glamour, Barbarian – Path of Giants, Cleric – Death Domain, Druid – Circle of Stars, Fighter – Arcane Archer, Monk – Way of The Drunken Master, Paladin – Oath of the Crown, Ranger – Swarmkeeper, Rogue – Swashbuckler, Sorcerer – Shadow Magic, Warlock – Hexblade, and Wizard – Bladesinging.
Each subclass comes with new abilities, animations, visual effects, and summons. The Paladin subclass even features new voiced dialogue for the Oathbreaker Knight. Additionally, Steam Trading Cards have been added to Baldur’s Gate 3, allowing players to craft badges and unlock profile backgrounds and emoticons.
Larian has also included support for partial level editing for current characters, items, and triggers in its modding toolkit, as well as various quality-of-life updates. The studio has announced that it will be handing over future updates to the community as it shifts its focus to other projects. While working on new games, Larian plans to release weekly videos about Baldur’s Gate 3 and the development of the game on YouTube.
