As an individual who purchased Sony’s WH-1000XM5 headphones at full price, I am envious to announce that they are now available at a new all-time low price during Amazon’s Spring Sale. The headphones, which were our top choice for wireless headphones in 2025, have been reduced to $250 from $400, a significant 38 percent discount. The sale includes the Black, Silver, and Smoky Pink models, with the Midnight Blue option priced at $328.
There are very few tech products that I would wholeheartedly recommend, but Sony’s M5 headphones are definitely one of them. I have sung their praises so much that both my parents and brother ended up purchasing a pair (and my partner frequently borrows mine). One of the standout features for me, especially as someone who is prone to headaches, is how comfortable they are. I have worn them on numerous overnight flights and have been able to keep them on for the entire duration without any discomfort.
Speaking of flights, the active noise cancellation on the M5 headphones is another reason why they are a must-have for long journeys. With double the processors and microphones for ANC compared to their predecessors, I once slept just two rows away from a crying baby and couldn’t hear a thing with my music playing. Additionally, the 30-hour battery life ensures that I never have to worry about them running out of charge midway through my travels, unlike my AirPods which always need recharging before I reach my destination.
The M5 headphones’ exceptional performance during flights is not the only reason why we gave them a 95 in our review. They are also fantastic for listening to music while working or going for a walk. Equipped with 30mm carbon fiber drivers and DSEE Extreme technology, they elevate the sound quality and depth of your audio experience. My only gripe is that they don’t fold up, but given the current discounted price, they are still an excellent investment.
