The 18th edition of the Ejea Fair has concluded with a very positive outcome after receiving the visit of more than 24,000 people over the weekend. Organized by the City Council of Ejea and the Development Agency SOFEJEA, with the collaboration of the Ejea Commerce Association, the event has solidified its position as a benchmark in the agri-food and livestock sector.
The mayor of Ejea de los Caballeros, Teresa Ladrero, highlighted that «the Ejea Fair has once again been the promotional showcase of the region, reaffirming the link between our economic development and the agricultural sector. This year, we have advanced in the specialization and professionalization of the event, with almost 6,000 square meters dedicated to showcasing the latest innovations in agricultural equipment and machinery from the leading companies in the sector in Aragon.»
Over the three days of the fair, the event had the participation of 103 exhibitors, of which 45 percent were from the agri-food sector, including companies in agricultural machinery and equipment, agro-livestock services, agri-food producers, and sectorial entities.
In the outdoor area, with 4,805 square meters of exhibition space, 18 exhibiting companies participated, including the main manufacturers of agricultural machinery in the locality, recognized in the national and international market, alongside distributors of top-level brands.
In the indoor pavilion, exhibitors occupied 1,818 square meters. Within the framework of specialization and professionalization of the fair, technical sessions were held on Friday at the Aquagraria Museum, addressing key topics for the agro-livestock sector.
The ADS No. 2 of Porcine emphasized the need for «R&D for environmental protection in the pig sector,» while UAGA discussed the «Future expectations in the pig sector.» These sessions served to analyze the challenges and opportunities of the sector, fostering debate among professionals and stakeholders in the agri-food field.
CONSTITUTION OF THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
One of the highlights of the Ejea Fair was the establishment of the Advisory Committee of the Agri-Food Innovation Center of Ejea and the Cinco Villas. This center aims to become a key instrument for the regional agricultural sector, facilitating innovation and sustainability as fundamental pillars to address future challenges.
The committee is composed of relevant agents from the regional agricultural sector, as well as external entities that can contribute with their experience and knowledge to the project’s growth. More than 30 activities and a look towards the future The parallel program of the fair featured over 30 activities, including tastings, wine tastings, presentations, and roundtable discussions that highlighted the importance of the agri-food sector.
Among the highlighted events, ‘Velomundo’ was presented, a cycling tourism festival that will take place in Ejea de los Caballeros from May 23 to 25, including activities such as outdoor cinema, a specialized fair, and cycling routes.
The Ejea Fair is already gearing up for its next edition in 2027 with the goal of continuing to enhance its specialization in the agricultural and agri-food sectors, establishing itself as a strategic platform for the economic development of Ejea de los Caballeros and its surrounding areas.
