La Comisión also proposes to fine two fans with 4,000 euros for their repeated racist and xenophobic insults to Kubo and Barrenetxea
The State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance in Sports, met this week at the headquarters of the Higher Sports Council (CSD) in Madrid, has proposed to sanction an individual with 60,001 euros and a ban on entering stadiums for five years. This person, who already had his access to sports venues prohibited, was found inside the Benito Villamarín Stadium.
This was indicated by the Permanent Commission of this Anti-violence Commission in an official statement, in light of events that occurred on January 18 during a match between Real Betis Balompié and Deportivo Alavés, corresponding to matchday 20 of LaLiga EA Sports.
Among its list of decisions, the Commission also proposed a fine of 4,000 euros and a ban on access to sports venues for a period of 12 months for two fans «for repeatedly uttering racist and xenophobic insults» towards Take Kubo and Ander Barrenetxea, Real Sociedad players who were warming up on the sidelines of Mestalla during another league match against Valencia CF.
In the press release from Antiviolencia, it also highlighted its proposal to fine Racing de Santander 10,000 euros «for deficiencies in the access control and permanence of spectators by not preventing the introduction and activation of numerous flares during the open training session held on December 21, 2024,» a Christmas open-door day.
