Netflix has chosen Fast & Furious director Justin Lin to helm its upcoming movie adaptation of the popular comic BRZRKR, created by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt, which follows the story of an immortal warrior. The streaming platform had initially announced plans for both the movie and an animated show back in 2021, with Reeves set to star in the former and reprise his role in the latter. However, updates on the progress of these projects have been scarce since then. In the meantime, Reeves has collaborated with author China Miéville on The Book of Elsewhere, which was published last year.
While there is no confirmed release date for the Netflix adaptations, audiences can expect a high dose of violence and action from both projects. BRZRKR centers on a man named «B» who is half-mortal and half-god, having lived through 80,000 years of existence. Tired of his immortality, he eventually takes on a job as a government assassin, seeking an escape from his eternal life. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Mattson Tomlin, known for his work on Terminator Zero, is penning the script for both the movie and the anime adaptation.
