The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a driver for reckless homicide on Saturday afternoon after a head-on collision on the C-16 at the height of Cercs (Barcelona) earlier today, for being the alleged responsible for the accident in which a 59-year-old woman from Barcelona has died.
The arrested driver, who tested negative for alcohol, reportedly crossed into the opposite lane, according to the Mossos, resulting in a head-on collision with another car at kilometer point 101 of the C-16, where five people sustained less severe injuries.
Emergency services received the call at 12:00, as reported by the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT), while the Emergency Medical System (SEM) has communicated in a ‘X’ message that of the five affected individuals, two have been transferred to the Hospital de Manresa and three to the Hospital de Berga.
