Amancio Ortega recibe 1.552 millones por dividendos de Inditex, la mitad de lo que cobrará este año

The founder and main shareholder of Inditex, Amancio Ortega, will receive a total of 1.552 million euros this Friday, May 2, as the first payment of the year that Inditex will distribute to its shareholders. This amount represents half of what he will earn in dividends from the Galician company this year. Specifically, Ortega is expected to receive a total of 3.104 million euros in dividends from Inditex this year, an increase from the 2.845 million euros he received last year, marking a 28% growth in dividends.

In total, Inditex will distribute over 5.235 million euros to its shareholders this year, with a 9% increase in dividends, amounting to 1.68 euros per share. The dividend policy of Inditex consists of a regular payout of 60% of profits and the additional distribution of extraordinary dividends. After announcing a record profit of 5.866 million euros in 2024, a 9% increase, the board of directors will propose a 9% dividend increase for the year 2025, totaling 1.68 euros per share, comprising of a regular dividend of 1.13 euros and an extraordinary dividend of 0.55 euros per share.

The dividend will be paid in two equal installments: on Friday, May 2, 2025, a payment of 0.84 euros per share as the regular dividend, and on November 3, 2025, another payment of 0.84 euros per share (0.29 euros regular plus 0.55 euros extraordinary). Ortega, who controls 59.294% of the company equivalent to a package of 1.848 million shares, reinvests part of the dividends he receives from Inditex in the real estate sector.

Ortega owns the largest real estate company in Spain, focused on the acquisition and management of large buildings, with a real estate asset portfolio primarily consisting of non-residential office buildings located in major cities in Spain, the UK, the US, and Asia. His daughter, Sandra Ortega, who owns 5.053% of the Galician company (157.48 million shares), will receive over 264 million euros in dividends from Inditex this year (half on Friday, May 2), compared to the 242 million euros she received the previous year.

Amancio Ortega has once again been recognized as the wealthiest person in Spain, ranking ninth in Forbes’ global list with an estimated net worth of 124 billion dollars (114.943 billion euros). He surpasses his daughter Sandra, who is the second wealthiest person in Spain and ranks 230th globally, with a fortune of 10.8 billion dollars (10.011 billion euros).
