Antidio Fagúndez and his Provincial Executive have received 88 percent of the votes from delegates at the XV Provincial Congress of the PSOE in Zamora to continue leading the party in Zamora for another four years.
Eighty delegates participated in the congress, with representatives also giving 90 percent of their support to the Provincial Committee. Antidio Fagúndez’s candidacy was the only one presented at the Congress.
Fagúndez, who was already the Secretary General of the PSOE in Zamora, will be joined in this new stage by Patricia Martín as the number two (replacing the recently deceased Inmaculada García Rioja) and by Iñaki Gómez as the Secretary of Organization (who is also staying in the position).
Among the most prominent names in the new Executive are Luisa Velasco (Secretary of Equality), José Fernández (Institutional Coordination), Eduardo Rodríguez (Administration), Sandra Veleda (Territorial Coordination), and Ángel Lobo (Municipal Politics).
In his closing speech at the Provincial Congress, Antidio Fagúndez made a plea in defense of municipalism and the protection of public services.
The recently re-elected Secretary General rallied his supporters and declared the start of the race for the 2027 municipal elections. «The task begins now, with the selection of candidates for mayors and presence in the municipalities,» Fagúndez stated.
