Chunta Aragonesista (CHA) ha presentado una proposición no de ley en las Cortes de Aragón con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de life of this group and promote their full inclusion in Aragonese society.
In Aragon, it is estimated that there are around 7,000 ostomized people, who, in addition to the physical challenges associated with this surgical intervention, face significant emotional, social, and occupational barriers.
Among the proposed measures, highlights the progressive installation of adapted bathrooms in public centers dependent on the Government of Aragon –hospitals, health centers, administrative buildings, educational centers–, the creation of assistance lines to municipalities to implement this type of infrastructure at the municipal level, and the promotion of awareness campaigns to combat social stigma.
«An adapted bathroom is not a luxury, it is a basic necessity for thousands of people. Not having access to adequate spaces limits their freedom, their right to work, education, or leisure. From CHA, we believe that Aragon should be a reference in inclusion,» Lasobras emphasized.
CHA’s initiative also proposes to strengthen specialized care in stomatherapy in health centers, support the Association of Ostomized People of Aragon through grants and stable resources, and consider new measures such as the possibility of implementing a parking card that facilitates the mobility of ostomized people in urgent situations.
«Our commitment is to build an Aragon where no one feels invisible or excluded because of their health condition. This proposal is a step towards a fairer and more humane society,» Isabel Lasobras concluded.
