The PP has registered a Non-Legislative Proposal (PNL) in the Parliament, on the occasion of the International Day of Primary Care, urging the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to address the deficit of Family Physicians in Primary Care.
In a press release, the PP Balearic Islands has reported that the Popular Parliamentary Group has registered a PNL in the Balearic Chamber requesting the Government of Pedro Sánchez to address the shortage of Family and Community Medicine positions in Primary Care. «Sánchez must respond to the request of the Balearic Government and commit to creating an additional 1,000 training positions in the specialty of Family and Community Medicine each year,» said the Health spokesperson for the PP Balearic Islands, Isabel Borrás.
Borrás also mentioned that «President Prohens has done everything possible to make a drastic change in the Balearic Health System with the creation of positions that are difficult and very difficult to fill, as well as the restoration of the right to professional development. However, she cannot assume state competences, and it is Sánchez who must solve the problem of the shortage of positions by convening a monographic session of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System.»
«We ask Sánchez to allocate whatever financial resources are necessary to the ‘Primary and Community Care Action Plan 2025-2027,’ regardless of whether the General State Budgets for 2025 are approved or not,» explained the ‘popular’ deputy, adding that «it is urgent to review the accreditation criteria of the teaching units in order to progress in flexibility and agility, as well as to strengthen the skills and training of specialists.»
