La Guardia Civil rescata a siete personas en el Pirineo aragonés durante el fin de semana

The Guardia Civil has carried out four rescues in the Aragonese Pyrenees since last Friday, February 14, during which they assisted a total of seven people, including two injured athletes, a climber from Murcia, and a skier from Navarra, who fell while practicing their respective activities.

In the case of the climber, a 25-year-old woman from La Unión (Murcia) had an accident on Saturday afternoon while descending a trail in the climbing area of Los Meneses, in the municipality of Canfranc (Huesca), which resulted in a possible ankle fracture. After receiving the call at 5:00 p.m., the GREIM of Jaca, the Air Unit of Huesca, and the 061 doctor were activated. After locating the climber by air, she was evacuated and transferred by helicopter to the helipad in Jaca, where she was then taken by ambulance to Hospital San Jorge Huesca.

On Sunday at 1:55 p.m., a report was received that a skier had fallen while preparing to start her activity near the Barrosa Refuge in Parzán (Huesca). The injured woman, a 57-year-old resident of Gorraiz (Navarra), suffered a knee injury and had to be evacuated by the GREIM Boltaña, the Air Unit of Huesca, and the 061 doctor to the helipad in Boltaña (Huesca), from where she was transported by ambulance to the Hospital de Barbastro.

Additionally, three mountaineers were forced to spend Saturday night in a hunter’s cabin after getting disoriented on the south face of Peña Telera, near the Barranco del Puerto Refuge in Biescas (Huesca). They contacted the GREIM of Panticosa, who evacuated them to their temporary residence on Sunday. The three men, aged 22, 26, and 32, are residents of Teruel province and the Alto Gállego region, respectively.

Finally, on Friday, February 14, the Guardia Civil assisted two hikers, two men aged 24 and 25, from Zaragoza and Barbastro, respectively, who got off the Rutaviesas trail in Sallent de Gállego, and became stranded in a ravine. The GREIM of Panticosa received the call at 7:15 p.m. and completed the rescue at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday the 15th.
