Sa Rua 2025 llena Palma de disfraces y diversión

The main streets of the city of Palma were filled this Sunday with a multitude of people in costumes, eager for fun, to celebrate Sa Rua 2025.

In this edition of Sa Rua 2025, nine floats and 34 troupes participated, including some with a message, such as the one from the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), which aimed to raise awareness about the importance of colon cancer through costumes of emojis representing the fecal occult blood test, or one that depicted residents suffocated by not being able to access housing, as well as more festive ones with original compositions.

The parade of floats and troupes started at 5:00 PM to the rhythm of batucada music. An hour earlier, they gathered on the streets formed by Baró de Pinopar, Alemania Avenue, and Comte de Sallent Avenue.

Sa Rua began its route on the Rambla and continued through the streets of Riera, Unió, Plaza Juan Carlos I, and Jaume III Avenue, ending on Paseo Mallorca.

After the parade, the jury of the event, which included the deputy mayor and councilor for Citizen Participation, Lourdes Roca, selected the best proposals of this edition.

The awards established by the Participation Ciutadana area of Cort, totaling 2,800 euros, are divided into four categories for each of the modalities (floats and troupes).

Meanwhile, the recognition for the most original troupe was for ‘Gaudeix de la fantasia’; the most elaborate for ‘La marea del bon rollo’; the most stimulating for ‘Piratas del balboa’; and the recognition for the most message-driven troupe to ‘Asterix i s’Oliverix contra los Romanos’.
